CHRISTOPHER CONWAY, RECEIVER
Christopher Conway is a 30+ year veteran of the life settlement industry with over 40 years of experience in the life insurance business. He has spent the majority of his career as a senior executive or principal of six life settlement companies, including two life settlement providers, an investment advisory firm, a life expectancy underwriting and policy administration service firm and a consultancy that has advised a broad array of operating businesses, institutional investors and financial services firms over the past 15 years. Mr. Conway’s depth and breadth of expertise across three decades of hands-on operational execution underpins his balanced perspective, critical thinking, extensive knowledge, and formidable capabilities in the life settlement marketplace. These attributes, coupled with extensive industry contacts, detail orientation, and the ability to develop and apply practical, proven solutions to complex, chaotic and often overly dynamic conditions, have made him a valued, sought-after expert in numerous legal matters involving a range of life settlement cases, including bankruptcies, receiverships, complex litigation and fraud cases.
Mr. Conway served two terms as Chairman of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (“LISA”), and he is currently a Board Member, Secretary-Treasurer, a Member of LISA’s Executive Committee, and Member of LISA’s Market Affairs and Industry Affairs Committees and the Life Expectancy Underwriters Task Force. He also serves as a Member of the European Life Settlement Association’s (“ELSA”) Executive Committee, is a Member of ELSA’s Membership Committee, and Chair of ELSA‘s Editorial Sub-committee for LifeRisk News. Mr. Conway is a frequent moderator, speaker, panelist and commentator concerning life settlement issues and has appeared before industry and investor groups in Europe, Asia and the US. He is a principal and senior executive of three active life settlement companies, including ISC Services, LLC, Life Information Logistics, LLC and Longevity Asset Advisors, LLC.
Mr. Conway has also run two regulated life settlement providers, building one from scratch for a European-based, vertically integrated asset manager and managing the successful run-off of a fractional interest life settlement business for another, as well as overseeing its day-to-day operations buying, selling and administering life settlements in the secondary and tertiary markets. These operations secured separate $500 Million lines of credit from two major US banks, which Mr. Conway and his team co- managed with the asset managers involved. These operations included portfolio administration operations supporting hundreds of life settlements, management of the related credit facilities, and all other aspects of business operations necessary to run a life settlement platform.
Mr. Conway has provided guidance, advice and tactical services in legal matters involving life settlement issues including medical record fraud, fractional interest life settlement cases, and other life settlement issues including advising counsel representing fractional interest investors in the Life Partners case, advising and providing support services to the Trustee of the Mutual Benefits Keep Policy Trust (“MBKPT”), managing investor communications for MBKPT, advising counsel and providing litigation support services for a qualified plan custodian associated with life settlements, and advising, supporting and managing bankruptcy auctions for a US Trustee and a debtor holding fractionalized life settlement assets.
